Tim Tebow Movie Set to Release Soon

Tim Tebow represents the type of person every parent wants their daughter to marry and their son to emulate. He has had more than his fair share of secular success, winning the Heisman Trophy and being a National Champion as the quarterback of the Florida Gators before going on to play in the NFL. He has even found success on the baseball diamond and as a television broadcaster. There just isn’t much Tebow hasn’t tried and conquered.

However, that’s not what makes him so admirable. It is instead his deep personal faith in Jesus Christ and the way he lives that faith out in everyday life. It is this conviction upon which he bases his life that led him to the add one more title to his impressive resume, that of “movie producer”.

Tebow, along with his brother Robby Tebow are serving as the executive producer of an upcoming faith-based movie entitled “Run the Race.” This fictional account of two brothers, Zach and David, who both happen to be high school athletes, is set to hit theaters on February 22nd, 2019. The story is based upon the way these two brothers handled their mother’s death and their father’s subsequent abandonment. One of the brothers also suffers a devastating injury during the movie. “Run the Race” follows these two brothers as they look to their faith, their love of football and each other to get past their devastating losses.

“I wanted to be part of something that’s encouraging and inspirational to the viewer,” Tebow said. “I believe ‘Run the Race’ accomplishes this by showing two brothers struggling with real life, but then getting through it by supporting each other and their faith. I hope those who see it can walk away with more faith, hope, and love.”

Although the story is fictional, Tebow does note some similarities between himself, his brother and the characters featured in “Run the Race.”

“There are a lot of similarities in my life between two brothers supporting one another, having each other’s back, believing in one another,” Tebow continued. “My family and my brother have always given me so much support. That’s made such a big impact on me being able to go after my dreams.”

Though Tebow had great success in college as a quarterback, he didn’t find the same level of success in the NFL, and decided to retire in 2016. He then rebounded and attempted baseball. Unfortunately, he suffered a hand injury in July, which derailed that dream as well. Tebow says, though, that even the disappointments in life work together to make a person’s faith stronger.

“Every setback is just another opportunity for a comeback. I love and embrace that, I still had an exciting baseball season and it’s been a really fun ride. But I’m excited to be able to get back to work, heal this thing up, and get right back at it,” the athlete stated.

Tebow explained how important this movie is to him and how he believes, in a way, it’s the telling of his own story and is much more than a “sports” movie. It has a message.

“’Run the Race’ is about so much more than football,” Tebow went on. “This is a story about overcoming the hard issues of life, about the power of sacrifice, the power of family, and the power of forgiveness. I love being part of a project like this because it will impact lives, inspire hope, and even prompt action. When I read the script, I know this was an important project to get behind.”

The movie’s press release says it shows what is possible when a person (or persons) “run to—instead of from—the love of God.” What an amazing thought on what’s sure to be an inspirational movie.
